Shion Aikawa is an artist residing in San Francisco, CA. Born in Tokyo and raised in Texas, Shion considers himself a global citizen, deeply influenced by the diverse cultures and environments he has experienced throughout his life.

Shion began his artistic journey in photography (feat. in Vice, Forbes, Whitehot Magazine) but eventually transitioned to painting as a means of coping and recuperation. To him, reality— like nature and the people encountered in everyday life—can often feel indifferent at first.Through his work, he seeks to reconnect with what it means to be a part of this world, by observing the nuance that evidence life and motivation of the other.
